Malcolm Franklin MRSS
Franklin was born in Gloucestershire, England. He studied Fine Art at the University of Wolverhampton from 1990- 93, where he developed a love of stone carving, under the guidance of John Paddison. From there he moved to London to take an MA in Site- Specific sculpture at Wimbledon School of Art, 1993-95.
In 2002 Franklin expanded his practice through the exploration of print, in particular lithography on stone, working in the studio of the Master print-maker, Simon Burder at Oaks Editions Studio, Carshalton, Surrey, England.
At the beginning of 2018 he moved to live and work in Northern Italy and in 2023 he started to work with the printmaker Corrado Albicocco at Stamperia D'Arte Albicocco, Udine.
He is currently a Member of Royal Society of Sculptors
From 2009 until 2018 he was a Member of Royal Birmingham Society of Artists
Trustee of the Free Painters and Sculptors Society from 2010-14.
Franklin has work in many private and public collections, including;
